Normal people book review5/30/2023 ![]() ![]() Marianne, the daughter of a rich family, grows up in a surrounding of wealth but without the love and safety a home and family should provide. Connell lives with his nice mom, who’s the cleaning lady of Marianne’s family house. Despite going to the same school, their lives are as different as can be. It’s the story of Marianne and Connell two young people growing up Carriclea, a little town in Ireland. Normal People is a coming of age story and a love story. ![]() Growing around one another, contorting to make room, “All these years they’ve been like two little plants sharing the same pot of soil, A nice little extra, which makes the experience even better. Despite being stuck at home due to Covid-19, reading this book makes me feel like I’m back in Edinburgh again. ![]() It’s one year later and again I’m reading Normal People. We really enjoyed our days exploring the city, the nights I mostly spend reading this book in our hotel room. It was the first time that I visited this beautiful and romantic city, it also was the first time that I read a novel by this very talented young writer. Last year, I read ‘Normal People’ when my boyfriend and I spend a couple of days in Edinburgh (UK). Written by Sally Rooney, published by Faber & Faber ![]()
